From one who tried to kill us - adapt or die!

As twitter followers of @MaryxMaguire will be aware, last night a reunion of Fleet Street industrial correspondents was held in Congress House London.

Among those present was Bernard Ingham, former Chief Press Secretary of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher during the worst police state excesses of the 1980’s Conservative Government.

In a column to mark the occasion, written in his old stomping ground, the Yorkshire Post, Ingham has spewed forth a tirade of condescending abuse towards trade unions capped off by ironic advice, from a self-described ‘ancient relic’, an unreconstructed Tory class warrior, ‘adapt or die’ – priceless reading if you want to know your enemy:
