Con Dems take one small step back on NHS competition

Campaigning works! Yesterday's withdrawal of proposed Government Section 75 regulations on the implementation of the Health & Social Care Act - designed to engineer more private sector involvement in the NHS (England) - is an important short term victory.
A remarkable 243,000 people have signed the 38 Degrees petition against the NHS reforms. That the U-turn has happened only four weeks before the new legislation comes into effect shows the importance of keeping up pressure on MP's - revised regulations will be published soon:
