Cosatu stands firm in face of strike ban on 'essential workers'‏

On Saturday, a South African court issued an order banning ‘essential staff, including doctors, nurses and teachers’ from participating in the indefinite public sector pay strike, reports the FT. http://tinyurl.com/3y7v2xq

Patrick Craven of Cosatu pledged that the strike, involving over 1 million workers, will continue regardless of the legal injunction, saying that it would not make “any fundamental difference to our overall strategy. A lot of confusion is bound to occur here because the term ‘essential workers’ has never been properly defined.”
