‘Cuts mandate’ makes a mockery of Tory pledges to public service workers‏

Writing on the Public Finance website Heather Wakefield UNISON national secretary for local government takes a sceptical look at Tory Leader David Cameron’s ‘invitation to public sector workers to join the government of Britain.’

The 7 pledges range from ‘trust in your professionalism’ to ‘ask you to help build the big society. ’and include pledges to ‘deliver fair pay’ and ‘giving you the chance to take over the services you deliver.’

The bogus nature of the Tory workforce pledges are exposed by today’s FT interview with wannabee Tory Chancellor George Osborne in which he looks forward to an emergency June budget with ‘a public spending cuts mandate’ leading to ‘a lower public sector headcount.’
