Jack Jones' Annual Lecture

On 14 November (6PM) the National Pensioners’ Education & Welfare Centre will be holding the Jack Jones’ annual lecture in Unite head office, Holborn, London. TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady will address ‘The Challenges We Face’ in the centenary year of Jack Jones’ birth. There will be time for questions and discussion.

Backing sought for Jack Jones film

Brian Reade wrote in the Daily Mirror last week of his work with the Jack Jones Trust.
Reade has spoken and written of the need for a film that celebrates the life of Jack Jones, once voted the most powerful man in Britain. He is working with the family of Jack and the Jack Jones Trust in order to get funding for the film on this year the 100th Anniversary of his birth.

Jack Jones - 'a true colossus of the labour movement'

A well attended meeting in Liverpool last night heard TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber deliver the second Jack Jones memorial lecture on the late TGWU leader's life and its relevance today.
