Grotesque scenes in Libya an affront to civilisation

Whilst Libyans take photos of Gaddafi's body in Misrata, where a guard let small groups in to a meat store to view the corpse of a dictator (and recent customer of British arms manufacturers) it brings home the spectre of a ‘’new Libya” styled by Cameron et al.

Not free of a dictator but awash with marauding groups of self styled executioners and militias.

Gaddafi was undoubtedly mad as a box of frogs but as the old adage goes be careful what you wish for…. If we have ‘freed’ a state then surely the over-riding symbol of the brave new world would be one which embraces democracy and justice – no matter how tortuous and painful that might be?

Not one western leader has condemned this barbaric action or asked for calm and for the rule of law, following a regime change achieved above all by a high tech NATO killing machine.

Anyone noticed if the oil prices have gone up?
