Solidarity with SAMWU‏

The action follows longstanding union concerns about chronic service delivery failures, the involvement of legal firms in disciplinary processes and disputes about job evaluation.

Union media officer Tahir Sema.said “SAMWU said members want to deliver the services that our communities desperately need. We have shown ourselves willing to expose inefficiencies and corruption, even when threatened by tenderpreuners and those with vested interests”

UNISON’s NEC today met with senior SAMWU official John Mawbrey who gave an update on the strike action which has been mounted by 130 000 SAMWU members since Monday.
