Capital cities join to back public services during festival
Edinburgh and London UNISON members are bringing the acclaimed "A Tale of Two Barnets" film to the city during the Edinburgh festival today to highlight the dangers of wholesale privatisation of council services. The film has had the rare privilege of being shown at the House of Commons and has been warmly received in over 30 showings across the London borough and beyond.

UNISON Mobilises for action at Anti-Cuts Festival
Artists will paint a real picture of the damage caused by public sector cuts at UNISON's Mobilise Festival in Edinburgh, alongside musicians, comedians and special guests. The festival against the Government's cuts, which runs from 13 to 20 August, will include daily debates, followed by live music and open mike slots.

Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival: Weaving international solidarity with local disputes
The 77th Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival opened at the weekend with its usual mix of politics, music, comedy and drama, blended with solidarity and diversity. After a rain-lashed start, Saturday morning opened with a UNISON sponsored debate on the NHS with John Healey, Roger McKenzie speaking, chaired by Joanne Kaye, UNISON South West Regional Secretary.
