Following extensive negotiations this week betwen Leeds City Council, GMB & UNISON a possible deal has been reached to end the 6 week continuos strike action in protest at pay cuts. The unions will put details of the package to stewards and members tomorrow, Friday 16 October..

UNISON Regional Organiser Tony Pearson said:
"Our priority is not only to ensure a fair deal for our strikers but, in addition, to ensure that the council’s proposals don't in any way undermine our equal pay strategy. We have had massive support for this strike from the people of Leeds who have fully understood why the action was unavoidable," he added. Now we will ask our members and those of the GMB to consider the council's offer and give their verdict on whether to accept and return to work."
