Unions press world leaders for a jobs G20

Fifty union general secretaries from around the world – including the TUC general secretary – will be lobbying world leaders in Pittsburgh over the next two days, urging them to put jobs centre stage during Friday's G20 Summit.

Brendan Barber is calling for urgent action to deal with unemployment, 'The recession won't be over until people are back at work in safe jobs with good wages. Unions are still spending too much time tackling job losses and resisting wage cuts, and for too many workers the 'exit strategy' they face is a one way trip to the dole queue. http://www.tuc.org.uk/international/tuc-17009-f0.cfm
