Take action today on High Pay
From FairPensions: FairPensions and our supporters are attending company AGMs in 2012 and will be going face-to-face with directors to challenge them on high pay. What a fortnight it's been for shareholder action. Three companies have already been defeated over high pay at their AGMs as the pressure over spiralling executive bonuses mounts.

Big society? No - Big Dividends? Yes!
It’s nice to know that big banker bonuses are not reserved simply to bankers. The Con Dems are making doubly certain that their cronies are ‘all in it together’ when it comes to creaming off super bonuses. A4e, the company, appointed by David Cameron to help get troubled families into work, and which so far has produced little by way of success has paid just five shareholders £11m in dividends last year, of which Ms Harrison, the company Chair exposed by Cameron as a ‘families champion’ received 87% or about £8.6m in real money. ‘Nice work’ if you could actually help somebody else get it.... http://news.sky.com/home/uk-news/article/16174701

Bumper pay rises for Goldmine Sachs bosses while profits slump 38%
Shareowners, governments and the general public must surely faint at this news? What has it got to do with me you might ask? Well Goldman or Goldmine as they are known are a major supplier of fund management contracts to the LGPS, they manage your money and many LGPS funds are shareholders in Goldman.

UK Bankers Cash in Yet Again - Government Humiliated
For bankers plunder is a way of life for a group, almost exclusively of of men, living together in society who have created for themselves in the course of time, a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it. Take away their power to create money as debt out of thin air and you take away their power to plunder and their ability to control our democracy.

Ireland slashes bankers bonuses, will they run?
The huge outcry that met the Allied Irish Banks decision to award their traders £30m in bonuses has produced the correct response from the government. Now in a test of nerves we will see if the threat to cut and run by the bankers is real one?
