Tea Lady by Nicola Daly

after twenty-five years of prehistoric humour

dressed in something the colour of ice cream
with a dab of eau de cologne behind her left ear

and a squeaky right wheel;
with all the advances in technology
she never thought that she would still be

thundering relentlessly
down
the corridors of power,
pedalling advice, hot meals and beverages.
