Backlash begins against Union Labour Link

No sooner do we have the latest scandal of corrupt corporate funding of the Tory Party than a concerted attempt is being made by to undermine the Union Labour link.

Sadly New Labour elements are fronting the attack, with ex-Party General Secretary Peter Watt supporting Con Dem demands that trade unionists in affiliated unions be required to 'opt in' rather than 'opt out' of union political fund contributions - in the certain knowledge that this will severely deplete the level of membership affiliation and union funding to the Labour Party.
