From a UNISONActive reader: You had a brief mention of the Tax Dodgers Alliance et al's rally for the Creation of Public Squalor (or whatever they called it) on Saturday.
I can understand that having lifted up the flat stone of hard right what confronts you is unpleasant and you wouldn't wish to dwell on it ... but this does mean that UNISON Active readers have been deprived of a full account of the event (which by it's organisers own - generous - estimate managed to attract 1000th of the numbers of the March 26th Demo)
Unfortunately I can't supply a personal report - I had intended going along, but decided that it would be more fun to stay at home and stick needles in my eyes. Luckily Jon Day of the London Review of Books has stronger gag reflex than myself and was prepared to risk the shame of being in the same news report as Paul Staines. He gives a flavour of proceedings here http://www.lrb.co.uk/blog/2011/05/16/jon-day/in-old-palace-yard/
