Healey warns against removing the N for the NHS‏

Local government service fragmentation resulted in the profligate use of ‘commercial in confidence’ a ruse used by private sector contractors to keep the real costs of contracts away from public scrutiny.

The Health Bill will replicate this contractor ruse for contracts handed out by GPs – far from making the NHS people centered and accountable we run the risk of increased costs, less accountability and the health service being run down into pockets of disparity contracts with little if any strategic coordination of scarce resources.

This excellent article by John Healey explores the supposed principle of ‘any willing provider’ and is a must read for those seeking to better understand why this Bill is just so dangerous to the future of the NHS.
