North West TUC, organisers of yesterday’s Liverpool protest against cuts in public services say the 4000+ turnout by far exceeded their expectations. TUC Regional Secretary Alan Manning said: “This shows that people are prepared to stand up and be counted against the cuts.
Today’s demonstration is just the first salvo in our battle to protect and defend public services and the people who rely on them. We want the Lib Dem’s to change course – it’s still not too late to halt the Coalition’s ruinous attack on the welfare state, on employment and our economic recovery”
