Death by a thousand cuts‏

George Galloway, writing in yesterday’s Morning Star, warns that the Con Dem Government is attempting an ‘epochal shift in the way our society is organised’. http://www.morningstaronline.co.uk/index.php/news/content/view/full/94033

Galloway calls for a united response from the labour movement:

“Reheated Blairism and a quietist seclusion by the TUC are not going to furnish the politics that are required to galvanise public feeling and halt the reverse social engineering that lies in store. Those of us who recognise that cannot afford the luxury of the fragmentation and division.

A new politics of progress against social reaction is going to have to be formed through a coming together of different strands. A good start would be for all on the left to concert our arguments and to extend support for the manifold initiatives to resist the onslaught locally and nationally, with a view to cohering the real social forces on which a political alternative to the crisis years depends.”
