Police services are being undermined by cuts says Chief Inspector‏

Con Dem cuts of more than 12% to police budgets in England and Wales will undermine effective policing according to the Chief Inspector of Constabulary. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-10691052

Last week it was reported in Police Review magazine that 60,000 police officer and civilian posts could be axed in the next five years.

UNISON is the biggest police union with 44,000 police staff members in England, Scotland and Wales. Key campaigns include opposition to job losses as ‘back office’ functions are merged across forces or privatised as in Cleveland and the defence of community support officer members from Con Dem cuts and tabloid hounding.
