'We're angry, we're mad, we're NALGO and we're bad''‏

Former Islington Labour Councillor turned anti-labour movement heretic Leo McKinstry is the latest tabloid journalist to take a pop at public service unions who have the temerity to challenge the dominant neo liberal orthodoxy that large scale cuts in public services is the only solution to Britain’s economic problems. He even can’t resist the opportunity to settle a 20 odd year old score with Nalgo!http://www.express.co.uk/ourcomments/view/180094/Leo-McKinstry

Ironically, McKinstry’s recycled mantra that ‘drastic action is needed to prevent a slide into Greek-style chaos’, the CIPD has revised its projections of unemployment to the 3 million mark.

What is so ‘nihilistic’ about UNISON’s warning last week that "the new government is completely ignoring the human impact of these cuts.

Despite high levels of unemployment, the government is happy to add tens of thousands more workers to the dole queue, putting the recovery at risk. Public spending cuts will hit small businesses, devastate families, and the most vulnerable in our society will suffer.

There is no logic in cutting public sector jobs and money for development, only to pile on pressure to the private sector to create jobs"?
