PGFTU's position towards boycott of Israel.

Letter from Shaher Saed PGFTU General Secretary to Palestine Solidarity Campaign: Jewish Chronicle published an article by Leon Symons on November 12th 2009.  As the article do not reflect the real position of the PGFTU, we would like to emphasize the following:
The PGFTU adopts and supports the national Palestinian policy to boycott all products from the Israeli colonies/settlements, although this boycott may harm also the Palestinian workers. This is what General Secretary Shaher Saed underlined during the meeting at the PGFTU office in Nablus, where several members of the PGFTU Executive Committee participated.

Furthermore we would like to underline that it is the free will of all organizations to take decisions of boycotting Israel or not.

In this connection, we would like to underline also, that it is the position of Israeli government towards resuming peace talks while continuing widening and building new colonies/settlements around Jerusalem and elsewhere, which creates anger in the Palestinian and international community, and which make them take measures of sanctions against Israel.
